After failing to win a tournament in a 2010-11 season marked by three second-place finishes, the Harvard women’s golf team came charging back in 2011-12 with five first-place finishes over the course of this season.

In its final tournament tune-up before the looming Ivy League Championships, the Harvard women’s golf team returned to its winning ways over the past weekend with some help from an unlikely source.

The Crimson finished 10th among a 15-team field that included three squads in the top 50 of the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings.

Playing the 6130-yard, par-72 PGA National course in North Palm Beach, Fla., the Crimson beat the Sharks by 11 strokes, 311-322.
