Harvard China Care’s Seventh Annual Benefit Dinner featured speakers Sheryl WuDunn, Joe Wong, and Eric I. Lu ‘09. The dinner raised money for charitable causes in China through a silent auction.


Events Highlights Global Warming Challenge in Maldives

Former president of the Maldives Mohamed Nasheed speaks without equivocation in the film “The Island President,” screened at Harvard Law School early Monday evening. Climate change is “the most important fight is the fight for our survival,” he says in the film.

Students from Beijing University mingled with Harvard students and faculty during their 10-day visit to Harvard, which featured events focusing on social entrepreneurship and education


Peking University Students Visit Harvard, Boston Area

The Harvard China Fund hosted a group of 15 students from Peking University in Beijing on a 10-day trip which exposed them to the American education system and social entrepreneurship. The journey inspired some students to develop their own plans to reform Chinese education.


Alumni Join ‘The Amazing Race’

When ‘The Amazing Race: China Rush’ sent its contestants to a region near the Chinese-Korean border and challenged them to down 1.2 kilograms of Kimchi, most teams became frantic. Charles R. Melvoin ’10 and Ryan K. Burke ’10, on the other hand, quietly drew back their chairs, thanked the servers, and finished the fire-hot Korean dish in under fifteen minutes.
