Members of the Occupy Harvard movement plan to demonstrate at Commencement on Thursday to protest potential layoffs of Harvard University Library staff, according to a press release distributed by the movement.
Seniors Celebrate Final Week
The path leading up to the Senior Barbecue was littered with empty plastic cups and water bottles as hundreds of graduating seniors enjoyed macaroni and cheese, corn bread, and beer at the final event of this year’s Senior Week on Sunday evening.

Mass. House Representative Barnett “Barney” Frank ’61-’62 and comedian Andy Samberg will speak at Class Day as the guest alumni speaker and the guest speaker, respectively, according to a video message sent to some seniors by the Senior Class Committee earlier today.

Graduating seniors in the Class of 2012 will receive an official class color on Class Day during a ceremony hosted by the Harvard Alumni Association, restoring a long-held Harvard tradition that has not been practiced since 1963.

HLS Announces Class Day Speaker
On May 23, U.S. Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. will address Harvard Law School's graduating third-years as the Commencement Class Day Speaker. Holder, who recently led the Justice Department to vote against a voter ID law in Texas, was nominated by President Barack Obama to become the 82nd Attorney General of the U.S. in 2008. Eleven years earlier, in 1997, Holder became the first African-American to be named deputy attorney general. The Class Day Program at HLS will take place on Holmes Field, with a reception to be held afterwards.
