Rugby Falls to Dartmouth in Ivy Championship

For the second year in a row, the Harvard women’s rugby team battled Dartmouth in the Ivy League title match. For the second year in a row—and the second time this year—the Crimson ultimately fell to the Big Green, 22-8.

Following its victory against Boston University earlier in the week, Harvard field hockey returned to Ivy league action on Saturday to face off against Dartmouth. In a tale of two halves, the Crimson overcame a Big Green first half lead to win, 6-2.

Men's Hockey Downs Dartmouth to Open Season

The Harvard men’s hockey team, like every other Division I club, wants to improve upon last year’s results. When it comes to playing in its home rink, however, the Crimson has little room for error. After cruising to an unbeaten record at the Bright-Landry Hockey Center in 2016-2017, Harvard dropped the puck against Ivy League rival Dartmouth on Sunday night hoping to impose a similar home-ice dominance.

Bad Man

Freshman forward Jack Badini is centering the Crimson's young and fast third line early on this season. Badini tallied his first career point when he assisted on fellow rookie Henry Bowlby's goal to break scoring open in the first period.


Bowling Toward the Cage

Coach Donato emphasized getting to the net in his team's first game of the season. For freshman Henry Bowlby, taking this advice to heart paid off. Bowlby registered his first career goal through hard work at the net front tonight.


Hockey's Back

The Crimson icemen are back at the Bright-Landry Hockey Center for the 2017-2018 season. Harvard aims to replicate last season's dominance at home after going unbeaten (13-0-2) in Cambridge last year.


Women's Volleyball Sweeps Dartmouth

Harvard completed the season sweep over Dartmouth, taking all three sets this weekend against the Big Green on the road. Now tied for second, the win keeps the Crimson in the mix for a piece of the Ivy League title.

Men’s Soccer Ties Fourth Game of the Season to Princeton

Harvard men’s soccer finished in a 1-1 draw for the second weekend in a row, unable to secure the victory over Princeton. The Tigers got on the board first after 77 minutes of play. Seven minutes later, sophomore forward Philip Hausen found the back of the net to tie it up.


BRIEF: Women’s Soccer Suffers Worst Conference Loss Since 2006

After a close first half, Harvard fell to Princeton 6-1, resulting in the Crimson’s worst loss since a 7-0 defeat to UCLA in the 2014 NCAA Tournament. In conference play, it is the worst margin the team has suffered since a 5-0 loss to Princeton in 2006.


Field Hockey Drops 13-Game Ancient Eight Win Streak

Saturday’s matchup between No. 15 Harvard and No. 14 Princeton likely determined the Ivy League title winner. In the defensive battle, where neither team recorded more than ten shots, the Tigers took the match, 3-0.

Women’s Volleyball Splits Against Princeton, Penn

In the first-to-three points structure that is college volleyball, games can last as short as one hour or as long as three hours. The Harvard women’s volleyball team (9-5, 4-1 Ivy League) saw both extremes this weekend, as it finished as the beneficiaries of a long five-set victory against Penn (7-7, 2-3) while suffering a quick three-set loss against Princeton.

In its penultimate road match of the season, the Harvard men’s soccer team (2-6-2, 1-1 Ivy League) faced off against a team it had not lost to since 2012, including a 4-0 route in 2016.
