Women's Ice Hockey Drops Season Opener at Dartmouth

The No. 5/5 Harvard women’s ice hockey team dropped its regular season opener, 2-1, against Dartmouth in Hanover on Friday night, showing that Stone’s team cannot afford to rest on its laurels as the new season commences. After taking an early lead, Harvard, last year’s Frozen Four runner-up and ECAC Hockey champion, was undone by the Big Green in the Crimson’s first opening game loss since the 2000-2001 season.


Despite Outshooting Princeton, Women's Soccer Loses, 2-1

The Crimson and Tigers, two teams that have combined for six of the last seven Ivy League championships, each entered the game with an undefeated mark in conference play, with both teams holding a six-point lead on third place Cornell. It was a clash of styles as Harvard’s conference-best defense went head-to-head with the Ivy League’s highest-scoring offense.


Women's Ice Hockey Defeats McGill, 3-2, in Season Tune-Up

A week before it begins its 2015-2016 season in earnest, the Harvard women’s ice hockey team defeated McGill University, 3-2, in the Crimson’s annual preseason exhibition game. Saturday’s contest also marked the first time No. 5/4 Harvard has been in the rink since reaching last year’s National Championship game.

​Coming off a comeback win at home against Princeton in the last minute, the Harvard women’s rugby team saw itself in a very similar situation at Dartmouth this weekend. With the clock winding down and down by a score of 20-15, it seemed as if the match was over when the Big Green attempted to put the ball into touch to end the game.


Cross Country Posts Competitive Times at the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational

In its final tune-up meet before the Ivy League Championships, the Harvard cross country team struggled against a field comprising many of the top teams in the nation. Racing at the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational in Madison, Wis., the men’s team took 32nd out of 36 teams, while the women finished 26th.


Chang’s Goal Keeps Men's Soccer an Ivy Unbeaten

Following a weak clearance by a Brown defender in the 68th minute, senior Andrew Chang controlled the ball with his chest, setting up a volley that he struck into the bottom left corner of the net, giving the Crimson a 1-0 victory over the Bears and its first three-win start to conference play in seven years.


Men's Water Polo Splits Weekend Series

​On a two-game road trip this past Sunday, the Harvard men’s water polo team (7-7, 4-3 CWPA) easily handled Connecticut College (0-8, 0-5), winning 16-7, but fell short at No. 12 Brown (13-3, 7-0), 16-12, in what amounted to a day of pretty familiar results.


Field Hockey Scores Comeback Win Over Brown

But just when it appeared as if the Bears would escape Jordan Field with the victory Saturday afternoon, a Crimson co-captain broke the scoring drought. On the fourth corner Harvard won in as many minutes, Elizabeth Jacobson took the ball on the edge of the shooting circle, faked left, and fired a shot into the bottom-right corner.


Women's Volleyball Sweeps Yale, Squeaks Past Brown

Buoyed by the play of freshman Jocelyn Meyer and sophomore Ellery Jones, Harvard took down the Bulldogs in straight sets after edging Brown in five on Friday to propel itself from a precarious place in the conference standings to first place in the Ivy League.
