Track and Field Competes at Historic Penn Relays

The Harvard track and field team sent a handful of field athletes to the historic Penn Relays over the weekend. With the Outdoor Heptagonal Championships taking place next weekend, the Crimson athletes who were in action turned in some strong performances, including personal-bests.

Women's Tennis Drops Bears in Sweep

Four days after notching its biggest victory of the season, the Harvard women’s tennis team continued its winning ways with a 7-0 victory over Brown in Providence, R.I., Thursday. The team lost only two sets combined in singles and doubles play and put the match away early, taking the doubles point and then running through three singles matches before taking the remaining three matches.

After sweeping Brown in a doubleheader Saturday, Harvard returned to the field in Providence, R.I., Sunday to complete its four-game series against the Bears. The Crimson, having won the first game, appeared well on its way to a second win before losing a lead late to end up splitting the second doubleheader.


Women's Tennis Ivy Title Hopes Remain Alive

After having its match against Brown postponed to Thursday, the Crimson (11-6, 3-2 Ivy League) came out on Sunday and moved within a game and a half of the league leaders (16-3, 5-1) with a 5-2 victory. With the win, Harvard snapped a two-game losing streak against the Bulldogs.


Women's 4x400 Relay Sets Program Record

Pitted against national-caliber competition at the LSU Alumni Gold Meet in Baton Rouge, La., they crushed the record. The team crossed the finish line in 3:38.79, nearly two seconds faster than the previous best mark. The performance earned third place for the Harvard track and field team.


Radcliffe Crews Upset Stanford, Win Handily

The Black and White heavyweight crew traveled to Syracuse, N.Y. to take on Syracuse and Ivy rival Dartmouth, while the Radcliffe lightweight crew defended the Charles River against Princeton, BU, and reigning national champion Stanford.


Men's Volleyball Sweeps Sacred Heart, Sets Up Postseason Rematch

In the final game of the regular season, the Harvard men’s volleyball team recorded its 11th sweep of the year and locked up the three seed in the EIVA postseason tournament. The Crimson (17-7, 10-4 EIVA) traveled to Sacred Heart on Saturday afternoon to face the Pioneers (4-19, 2-12). Coming into the weekend, the third and fourth seeds were still up for grabs in the EIVA Championship tournament. With the fourth seed having to play the 14th best team in the nation—Penn State—the difference between placing third or fourth was made even starker.


Harvard Boasts Top-Ranked Crews

Both the Harvard men’s heavyweight and lightweight crews continued undefeated spring seasons over the weekend. The No. 2 heavyweights took two of four races against Princeton on Sunday to secure the Compton Cup while the No. 1 lightweights captured three out of four races against Navy on Saturday at home on the Charles River.


Men's Tennis Repeat As Ivy Champions

The No. 22 Crimson (17-4, 5-0 Ivy) has now won 12 straight matches and 10 straight Ancient Eight matchups dating to last season following the defeat of the No. 57 Bulldogs (17-6, 3-3 Ivy).


Baseball Gives Up 24 In Split Doubleheader

Harvard (10-26, 7-9 Ivy) recorded 18 hits in a 12-10 win over Brown (5-28, 3-13), but it could not find the same success at the plate in game two when a nine-run Bears first inning doomed the Crimson to a 14-2 loss.


Baseball Ends Weekend 2-2 Against Brown

Playing against Brown (5-28, 3-13 Ivy) in a doubleheader in Providence, R.I., the Crimson (10-26, 7-9) took advantage of a seventh-inning comeback in game one and a pair of runs in the tenth inning to capture the first game, 4-2.


Men's Lacrosse Never Leads, Falls to Princeton, 14-6

Coming off of a strong performance against No. 18 Penn last Saturday, the Harvard men’s lacrosse team entered its Friday night matchup at No. 12/13 Princeton with a chance to solidify its place in the postseason Ivy League Tournament. The Tigers (8-4, 3-2 Ivy), however, had other plans, as they led the Crimson (6-7, 2-3) from start to finish en route to a 14-6 victory.


Harvard Track and Field Teams with Yale to Defeat Oxford-Cambridge

After an afternoon of running, jumping and throwing, the trophies would remain in Cambridge – Cambridge, MA that is.
