Pfoho Clarifies Position in Adams-Currier Kerfuffle

In a not-altogether-unsurprising turn of events, Pforzheimer House announced its position on the recent outbreak of war between Adams and Currier Houses. In the so-called "Mario Doctrine," named after Pforzheimer Building Manager and "Secretary of Depfense" Mario Leon and modeled on the Monroe Doctrine, Pforzheimer residents outlined that they "will not tolerate expansionist efforts from any River House."

Studying with Movie Scores

If you're anything like me, when you sit down to study with music, you may inevitably find yourself writing "I'm lost in the world / I'm down on my mind" instead of defining relevant aspects of life history theory. Watching TV while completing a problem set? The last time I tried that, I waxed poetic about Liz Lemon's dominant alleles. No, homework requires something else—something without distracting words or images. So whether you're tackling a paper or problem set, movie scores are a surefire accompaniment. The Arts Board presents you with eight classics.

Luciana E. Milano '14

In this series, we highlight decorative student dorm rooms deserving of special mention. If you think your room is fit to be profiled, let us know! The first thing that you'll notice as you step into the dorm room of Luciana E. Milano '14 in Pforzheimer House is that it is much more than a mere room. "The theme is homey," Milano said. From her fanned out stack of "Economist" magazines placed by the entrance to her neatly organized scarves hanging on the door, Milano has gone above and beyond to transform her room into a place where she can unwind. "It's just somewhere to relax, pray, or meditate. Sometimes I'll wake up in the morning and play soft music, brew my coffee, and do my morning prayers. It's a great way to start the day."
