Central Square

Former home of Cambridge natives Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, Central Square is just a short T-stop away from Harvard and hosts a variety of shops, eateries, and bars, along with a vibrant music scene. Students looking for a break from the usual weekend routine should check out a few of the places Central Square has to offer.

The festival had many kid-friendly attractions, such as crayons for book making, story-telling time, and individuals dressed up in costumes like the cat in the hat.


The multitude of children waiting for story time crowd around children's book author Jef Czekaj as he begins reading them his book, Cat Secrets, while dressed up in cat-affiliated attire.


The vendors stationed along Boylston Street and Dartmouth Street offer unique services, such as a fortune telling, in front of their stalls to attract the many festival goers.


The Boston Book Festival, an annual literary event, was held last Saturday, October 15, in Copley Square. The streets and the venues for the workshops were packed with individuals checking out the speaker events featuring world-famous authors, browsing through the many items on sale, or just enjoying the lively scene.


Figure Skating Legends Support Cancer Research

Mesmerizing performances by some of figure skating’s greatest athletes delighted fans at An Evening With Champions, filling the evening with an assortment of jumps, lifts, spread eagles, and backflips.

Among the tents in the square, this legal tent serves as the central location for people to volunteer and receive legal council. Other tents include medical, food, and clothing.


Inman Square

In this series, we'll be visiting the other parts of Cambridge, the "City of Squares." Join us as we explore the ins-and-outs of things to do in Inman, Central, Davis, Kendall, and Porter Squares. You've been walking past the same life-sized puppet perched outside the COOP for weeks—it's time to get out of Harvard Square and see something new. Although Harvard Square wins in the androgynous marionettes department, Inman Square boasts its own colorful mix of shops, cafés, and quirk that Harvard students often overlook. Located at the convergence of Cambridge, Prospect, and Hampshire Streets, below is just a taste of the many flavors that Inman Square has to offer.
