Now I Walk in Beauty: A Poem from Revels RiverSing

On Sunday night hundreds of people gathered near Weeks footbridge on the banks of the Charles River for the 9th annual Revels RiverSing celebration. Filled with music, poetry, and communal singing, this celebration of the fall equinox waved goodbye to summer and ushered in a new and spirited fall season. The poem below was inspired by the upbeat melodies and soaring voices of RiverSing; it is composed entirely from poetic lines and lyrics that emerged throughout the event.


Generational Memory: Echoes of the Holocaust

Writing about the Holocaust, I have realized that generational memory is an important access point to the subject matter. The writing techniques I’ve adopted follow the same principle as generational memory: that, while the Holocaust itself is hard to approach, its ripple effects are tangible.

Harvard Poets Celebrated for Arts First

On Sunday, April 29, poetic stylings as different as those of e. e. Cummings, Class of 1915, and Wallace Stevens, Class of 1897-1900, will meet during the event “Poetry at Harvard: A Love Story” in the Agassiz Theater.


Adrienne C. Rich, Class of ‘51, died this week at the age of 82. Rich was internationally known for her explorations of the realities of womens’ lives and of contemporary society with her pose and poetry.
