Men's Basketball Falls Short In Upset Effort Over No. 5 Maryland, 80-73

Still-undefeated Maryland (7-0) took its first lead within three minutes of the second frame, and although the Aiken-led Crimson continued to fight tooth-and-nail, it could not withstand a 10-point spurt from Terps lead scorer Anthony Cowan that pulled the game away for Maryland.

Pieter Lehrer, The Virginia B. and James O. Welch '52 Head Coach for Harvard Men's Soccer, will not be returning to coach the Crimson next fall. Lehrer spent seven seasons at Harvard, accumulating a 42-58-13 record during that period.


Women's Rugby Captures First-Ever NIRA National Championship

The Harvard women’s rugby team was named the NIRA National Champions for the first time in program history this past weekend. The Crimson defeated Army West Point, 18-7, at Mignone Field in front of Harvard’s home crowd.

Unfortunately for Harvard, a game that began with a celebration of players in their final year came to an end with a failed last-minute drive in the final quarter. For the second straight week, Harvard football ended its game in heartbreak. The Crimson dropped yet another walk-off contest, this time to Columbia in overtime as the Lions intercepted Harvard late to seal the game, 17-10.

Spectators were left wondering if they truly were reliving the same quarter over and over again – or if Sinnett was just that damn good. In the end, Sinnett and the Toreros proved just good enough, staving off a late Harvard comeback attempt to take home a 31-23 victory.
