Perk Up at Cabot Cafe

The scent of freshly ground coffee permeated the air as students and faculty chatted and baristas called out names written on the sides of just-made drinks at the grand opening of Cabot Cafe last night.

Cabot Cafe Grand Opening

If you haven't already heard of Cabot Cafe, we don't know what you've been doing for the past few weeks, but we beg you to come out of Lamont and experience the rest of Harvard. Located in the basement of Cabot House's E-entryway, the Cafe has transformed what used to be an underused common space into a hangout location for freshmen, upperclassmen, riverites, quadlings, graduates, faculty, and staff alike, as they all flocked to this new installment for its grand opening last night. We've already told you about the cafe here, here, and here, but if you're still not convinced that it's worth the trek to the quad, check out the pictures above to see for yourself what the new Cabot Cafe is like.

Petsi Pies

The cafe features baked goods, including multiple flavors of pies, from the Cambridge local business, Petsi Pies.

Hubway Plans to Expands to Cambridge in Spring

On July 28th, Boston launched a new bike-sharing system: the New Balance Hubway. "We're already up to 3000 annual members. 75,000 rides have been taken so far. These numbers are much better than we predicted—it took similar cities far longer to get to these numbers," said Mary F. McLaughlin, marketing manager of Alta Bicycle Sharing, the operator of Boston's Hubway project. Bike sharing has already caught on in Boston, and plans are underway to expand across the Charles in the coming spring.
