Mitton the Magician Visits Winthrop House
Canadian native Mark Mitton astonished a crowd of Winthropians Monday night as part of the Senior Common Room Series at Winthrop House. The magician, known for making Will Smith appear in the middle of Time Square, kept the crowd entertained by changing into fantastical costumes, making cars appear in the most unlikely places, and even teaching the audience members some simple tricks of their own.

Cabot Cafe Grand Opening
If you haven't already heard of Cabot Cafe, we don't know what you've been doing for the past few weeks, but we beg you to come out of Lamont and experience the rest of Harvard. Located in the basement of Cabot House's E-entryway, the Cafe has transformed what used to be an underused common space into a hangout location for freshmen, upperclassmen, riverites, quadlings, graduates, faculty, and staff alike, as they all flocked to this new installment for its grand opening last night. We've already told you about the cafe here, here, and here, but if you're still not convinced that it's worth the trek to the quad, check out the pictures above to see for yourself what the new Cabot Cafe is like.
Cabot Cup
After a successful spring preview last semester and with its logo laminated on windows and printed on cups, the cafe has become a permanent addition to Cabot.
Drink-Making

Hubway Plans to Expands to Cambridge in Spring
On July 28th, Boston launched a new bike-sharing system: the New Balance Hubway. "We're already up to 3000 annual members. 75,000 rides have been taken so far. These numbers are much better than we predicted—it took similar cities far longer to get to these numbers," said Mary F. McLaughlin, marketing manager of Alta Bicycle Sharing, the operator of Boston's Hubway project. Bike sharing has already caught on in Boston, and plans are underway to expand across the Charles in the coming spring.
