Paris: Where Balling Is Hard, and Leaving Is Harder

Street music reigns on the streets of Paris. This spot on the Pont St. Louis is particularly coveted, and not a day goes by without an impromptu jazz trio, barbershop quartet, or singer-songwriter gracing its gentle street.

Built in 1989 and designed by impeccably named architect I.M. Pei, the Louvre pyramid serves as the symbol of the museum and of Paris, as well as the object of many a hapless tourist’s pinching fingers.

Locks of love, such as these on the Pont de l’Archevêché, blanket bridges all over Paris and symbolize the eternal love of the couples who placed them there.
