The solution which the executive committee of the Tennis Association has given to the question of "shackers" has the evident advantage of simplicity. All tennis players should comply with the request both in regard to engaging "shackers" only at the entrance to Holmes and at the entrance to Jarvis field, and in regard to the amount to be paid the "shackers." If it becomes a custom to hire "shackers" at these places alone, much of the annoyance caused tennis players by the small boys will be avoided and it will then be possible, perhaps, for the association to keep away the more objectionable boys.
