Two of the former Japanese students of Prof. Max Muller have recently made a valuable discovery of Sanscrit manuscripts in Japan, consisting of the text of a part of the Sacred Canon of the Buddhists, which before had only been known to exist in Mongolian translations. This is not the first time that important Sanscrit texts have been found and rescued in China or Japan.
