STEVENS VS. LAFAYETTE.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Stevens eleven played a game of foot-ball with the Lafayette eleven Saturday, beating them by a score of 14 to 4. The Lafayette men forced the Stevens team well down during the first hour and, aided by the sun and wind, which were directly in the face of the visitors, succeeded in securing two touchdowns, from which no goals were obtained. Campbell, of Lafayette particularly distinguished himself this part of the game by good general play. During the second hour the visitors collected themselves, and in a few minutes forced Lafayette to make a safety. A moment later Torrence secured a touchdown for Stevens, which was followed by another, secured by Cotiart, from which Bush kicked a goal. Wurts of Stevens then made a most brilliant play, kicking a goal from near the centre of the field. The Stevens team was weakened by the absence of their captain and two other men who were disabled. Lafayette made no points during the last hour.
