Upon inquiry the rumored Law School crew turns out to be a "beautiful myth."

It is not true that the Yale crew are negotiating with Mr. Waters for a boat four miles long.

There will be a meeting of the '83 Pi Eta this evening at 7.30. A full attendance is requested.

Mr. Perkins, '84, has again temporarily given up his seat in the university on account of ill health.

The university are now rowing about six hundred strokes daily. The run has been lengthened about two miles.

Dr. A. P. Peabody has written an introduction for the American edition of Dr. Jowett's translation of Thucydides.

The Amherst faculty have decided to prohibit participation in inter-collegiate games by students of that college. The rule is not intended to conflict with existing arrangements, however, and will not go into effect until the end of the present academic year.

The Glee Club has received in invitation from the Harvard Club of Chicago to visit that city and sing at the annual reunion of the club, during the spring recess. It is not known yet whether the club will accept. It is rumored that they will also be invited by the Harvard Club of Cincinnati to visit that city at the same time.

Captain Hull of the Yale crew and some of the men have staked out a mile course on Lake Whitney for rowing next spring. It is said to be a long time since a university crew has used that body of water.

The undersigned having invested in a portable fire-escape is prepared to rent it out on reasonable terms to any who may apply; or, if preferred, will sell, as I shall have no further use for it, having recently joined a cremation society and being bound by the principles of the order to welcome a death by fire whenever opportunity offers.
