A TERRIBLE RAILROAD ACCIDENT!

NINE PERSONS KILLED AND MANY INJURED.

A terrible accident occurred on the Hudson River Railroad, last night, at Spuyten Duyvil, near New York. A local train ran into rear of the Atlantic express, which had stopped to repair a slight damage to one of the air brakes.

Two Wagner cars were telescoped and set on fire.

A number of members of the legislature were on board the express, and among them Senator Wagner, who is reported to have been killed.

L. L. Ransom of the Hoffman House, New York, and Mr. and Mrs. Park Valentine of Remington, Vt., were killed.

Four bodies have been found so badly burned that they cannot be recognized.

George Spinney, a reporter for the New York Times, is missing.

It is believed that no one in the rear car escaped alive.

The engineer and fireman of the local train escaped with slight injuries, and both declined to give any explanation as to the cause of the accident.
