EDITORS HERALD-CRIMSON.-No small item in a student's expense is that of books. Even though obtained through the Co-operative Society, the sun expended on textbooks for one year is considerable. Now a large part of these books are such that the majority of students would not care to keep. In view of the approaching meeting of the Co-operative Society, I would like to suggest a way in which this society could further benefit its members in the way of books. It could purchase a quantity of books at its usual reduction, estimate how long a use each one would endure, and let them to members at a price which would cover the cost of the book at the end of the estimated time, and also pay something to the society. This is a plan which has successfully been adopted in several young ladies' boarding schools that I have heard of; and I think it only needs a fair trial to prove it a success here.
