The Amateurs were defeated by the Stars yesterday, by a score of 19 to 9. The Stars outplayed their opponents at the bat and in the field. Their victory entitles them to a position among the three winning nines which are to play for the cups. The base hits made yesterday were-Stars, 18 for 23; Amateurs, 9 for 9. Umpire, Mr. H. The games in the CRIMSON series yet to be played, barring games between the three winning nines, will occur upon the following dates: Prescotts vs. Argonauls, Wednesday, May 13; CRIMSON vs. Mount Auburn, Friday, May 15.
