Wendell Baker, '86 will attempt to better his record of 22 2-5 sec. in the 220 yards dash, at Beacon Park to-day. The race will take place at 3 o'clock, Messrs. G. A. Avery, George Goldie, of New York, and either Reid or Taylor of New York will act as timers. Rogers, '87; Fisk, '86; Wells, '86, and Lund, '88 will run with him, Wells on the three yard, and the others on the five yard mark. Baker will be separately timed at 150, 180, 200 yards respectively, besides, of course, very carefully at the finish.

The best amateur records to date for the above distances are: 150 yards, 15 sec., Phillips, (Eng.); 15 1-8 sec., Brooks of Yale; 180 yards, 18 1-5 sec., Junker, (Eng.); 200 yards, 20 1-8 sec., Myers, New York. The best English amateur record for 220 yards was made by Phillips, London, 1878, is the same as Baker's American record. The best professional record in the 220, is 21 4-5 sec. Hutchens, (Eng.)
