The Proposed New Dormitory.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

It is more than likely that when college opens next fall, we shall be confronted by a new dormitory on Main Street. It will be the result of private enterprise. The college authorities having nothing to do with it. There is, on Main Street opposite the Library and beside the house numbered 410, a vacant lot, owned by Professor W. H. Niles of the Institute of Technology. Mr. Niles has long contemplated the erection of a dormitory here, and at one time proposed to extend it to the corner of Plympton Street, removing the house numbered 410 which is his property. Although the erection of the building has not yet been definitely decided upon, it is very probable that work will be commenced on it during the spring. The building will be ready for occupancy in the fall of eighty-eight. All the modern improvements will be introduced, and the suites of rooms will be made as desirable as possible, The prices will be about the same as those in Hilton. The plan has been suggested of having a kitchen in the building and serving meals to students.
