In the singles yesterday Snow beat W. Kinsley, 5-6, 6-4, 6-3; and Shaw beat Tailer, 6-4, 2-6, 6-1. The match between Shaw and Tailer was an exhibition of very strong tennis. The result of the final doubles was a great surprise. Lee and Tallant beat Sears and Shaw three straight sets, 6-4, 8-6, 7-5. Lee and Tallant played very close to the net and seemed able to return everything; while Sears and Shaw tried to drive through them instead of lobbing, and getting them back first. Lee and Tallant will play an exhibition match with Tailer and Snow, the present champions, at the end of the week.
