Harvard Students To Vote on Divestment From Israel in Inaugural HUA Election Survey
The damp, chilly weather and the class races was the cause of the poor attendance at the game yesterday. The few spectators sat shivering while Harvard did its heaviest batting this year. Amherst presented their change battery, Thayer and Clark. For four innings Harvard was kept down to two hits, the two runs in the first being made on a three bagger by Campbell, an error by short, and hits by Willard and Henshaw. In the fifth, with two men out and with the bases full, Bates made a timely single to left, Campbell followed with his fourth consecutive hit, a home run, the ball going to the law school building. With the bases clear, Quackenboss followed Campbell's lead and made a hit in the same place, which netted him four bases. Knowlton followed with a three-baser. Willard with a double, and Henshaw ended the inning by a grounder to pitcher. Harvard scored ten times during this inning. In the sixth, Gallivan led off with a hit, stole second and came home on Howland's home run to left field.
Amherst made a run in the first on Storrs' single, Bates' wild throw and a sacrifice. Again, in the fifth, Davidson reached first on called balls, stole second, went to third on a wild throw and scored on Belcher's long fly to centre. Storrs did some good batting for Amherst, while Campbell and Quackenboss for Harvard deserve especial mention in that line. Bates pitched a good game and was ably supported by Henshaw. Gallivan distinguished himself at second.
