The contests in throwing the hammer and pole vault which were postponed Monday on account of darkness, took place on Holmes field yesterday afternoon. There were three entries for throwing the hammer, E. B. Hinkley, G. H. Kelton, and P. V. K. Johnson. Hinkley won with a throw of 70 feet 6 inches, Kelton second. Hinkley evidently did not do his best.

H. M. Sternbergh and R. G. Miller appeared for the pole vault. Miller dropped out at 8 feet 3 inches. Sternbergh cleared the bar at 8 feet 6 inches but declined to have it raised.
