The Pool Tournament.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

At ten o'clock last Saturday night a large crowd gathered at Leavitt and Pierce's to witness the opening of the pool tournament. Two rounds were played, Wynne and Crane, Mastin and Crowninshield. The first three games were won by Wynne, but Crane, picking up, won the next five, securing the match. Play in this match was overcautious and rather uninteresting, each man fearing to break up the balls. The second bout, Mastin vs. Crowninshield, was won by Mastin; score, 5-2. On the whole, play was good, each contestant making brilliant shots. The next matches will be played to night at the same time, 10 p. m. Bell and Wildes. Stearns and Livingston, will be the contestants.
