Intercollegiate Boat Races.

The following is a completes record of the intercollegiate boat races in which Harvard has competed:

August 3, Lake Winnepiseogee, Center Harbor, two nilds to windward. Onelda-Harvard; won by two lengths. Halcyon, Yale. The race was rowed in eight-oared barges; time not recorded.

July 21, 1855. Connecticut River, Springfield, Mass., one and a-half miles down stream and back, Iris, Harvard, (eight oared parges), 22m; Y. Y., Harvard (four-oared barge), 22.03; Nereid-Yale, (six oared) 23.38: Nautilus-Yale, (six-oared), 22.38.

The next recorded match occurred four years later, and was the beginning of a series as follows, all over the same course: July 26, 1859. Lake Quinsigamond, Worcester, Mass., one-and-a-half miles up the lake and back; Harvard (shell) 19.18; Yale, (shell), 20.18, Harvard, (lapstreak), 21.13, Brown, (lapstreak), 24.40.

July 24, 1860, same course; Harvard, 18.53; Yale, 19.05; Brown, 21.15.

July 29, 1864, same course; Yale, 19.01; Harvard 19.43 1-2.

July 28,1865, same course; Harvard 18.09; Yale, 18.42 1-2.

July 27, 1866, same course; Harvard 18.43 1-4; Yale, 19.10.

July 19, 1867, same course Harvard, 18.12 3-4 Yale 19.25 1-2.

July 24, 1868, same course; Harvard 18.28 1-2; Yale, 18.38 1-2.

July 23, 1869, same course; Harvard, 18.02, Yale, 18.11.

July 22, 1870, same course; Yale 18.45: Harvard 20.30. This closed the series which on the whole had been favorable to Harvard. The wearers of the crimson won seven of the nine races, and are credited with the fastest time, 18m. 2s. The next three races were rowed at Springfield, Mass.

July 21, 1871, Connecticut river, Springfield, Mass., three miles down stream; Agricultural, 16.46 1-2; Harvard, 17.23 1-2; Yale, 17.47 1-2.

July 24. 1872, same course; Amherst, 16 33; Harvard, 16.57; Agricultural. 17.10; Bowdoin, 17.21; Williams, 17,59; Yale. 18.13.

July 17, 1873. Same course. Yale, 16.59; Wesleyan, 17.01; Harvard, 17.11; Dartmouth, 17.27 1-2; Amherst, 17.32; Columbia, 17.53 1-4; Bowdoin, 18.07 3-4; Agricultural, 18.19 1-2; Cornell, 18.24; Williams, 19.25 1-2 Following these came two contests on Saratoga lake, at Saratoga, N. Y., on a straightaway course of three miles, with the following results:

Of this series of races between Harvard and Yale, has won seven, and Harvard six. Yale also holds the fastest time on record, 20 min. 10 sec., made last year. This record will probably stand for some time, as the race last year was rowed under exceptionally favorable conditions.
