Development of Brown University.

The directory at Brown which has just been issued shows an increase of 118 in the total number of students and an addition of 3 to the faculty. The graduate students number 100, the seniors 84, juniors 89, sophomores 122, freshmen 152, specials 45, woman's college 75, making a total of 667.

The trustees are making an effort to enlarge greatly the endowment of the university. The object is to establish several new chairs and departments. The law and medical departments will receive special attention. It is reported that
