Dr. W. H. Melville of Dorchester. Massachusetts died suddenly in Austin, Texas, on Friday night. He graduated from Harvard in '75 and for a number of years was connected with the United States Geological Survey as chemist in San Fransisco and Washington. He resigned this position last September and accepted a similar situation for the State of Texas.
