Harvard Loses the Cricket Match.

The Harvard cricket eleven met the University of Pennsylvania team yesterday at Longwood. It was the second and last game of the intercollegiate series, and Harvard lost.

The ground was in excellent condition and no better day for cricket could have been desired. Harvard batted first and noted 71 runs, but U. of P. in her innings got 122.

At the second time to bat Harvard made 87 and U. of P. tied the score and had seven men still to bat. The game was not played out.

For Harvard the best work was done by Johnston, Garret, Pool and Clark while for U. of P. Brown batted in excellent from making 51 runs.

The visiting team was tendered a dinner at the Thorndike after the game which was thoroughly enjoyed.

Haverford, having defeated Harvard also, will play U of P. for the championship at Philadelphia on June 19th.
