The ninth annual convention of the American Association for the Advancement of Physical Education, of which Dr. Dudley Allen Sargent is president, will be held in New Haven, April 5, 6 and 7.
On the first day of the convention there will be a discussion of scientific matters pertaining to physical culture. Dr. Hitchcock of Amherst will conduct an exhibition of anthropometric instruments. Papers will be read by eminent persons on topics of a semi-popular nature and in the evening an illustrated lecture will be given by Dr. Sargent.
On the second day there will be a report on the literature which has appeared during the past year on the subject of physical training. There will be an exhibition of practical gymnastics, conducted by Mr. Arnold of Yale, followed in the evening by an exhibition in the Yale gymnasium, illustrating the Swe-
