Everything at present points to a successful winter meeting next Saturday. The officials are making every effort to have the events run off quickly and it is hoped that there will be no tiresome waits.
W. F. Garcelon L. S., has had charge of the tumbling squad and the indications are that this feature of the meeting will be better than it has been for several years.
The high jump and shot are open invitation events and the Harvard men will thus have a chance to try conclusions with some of the better known of the athletes in this vicinity. The pole vault will give the college its first opportunity to see Hoyt who recently broke the Harvard record at the Worcester meeting.
It does not seem to be generally understood that the high jump, pole vault, and shot put are handicap events.
As this will be the only meeting of the year it will be a ladies' day. Tickets and reserved seats are on sale at Leavitt & Pierce's.
