Cornell's Athletic Prospects.

Cornell is now looking forward to a successful season in baseball. About February 1 Captain Johnson will issue a call for candidates, and active training will be begun. Already the manager is negotiating for games with the leading college teams, and altogether the prospects are bright.

The entire infield of last year will remain practically intact. Rich, who played second base, will not be back, but his place will be taken by Diehl, who, though substitute last year, played in a large number of games. In the battery it is hoped that Priest, the famous old Cornell pitcher, will again take the position. He is in college again, and if he can be induced to play Cornell will have one of the best pitchers on the college diamond. The position of catcher will be harder to fill in the absence of Captain Young of last year. Of the outfield, Captain Johnson is the only old man back, but it is known that there is plenty of new material to draw from.
