An unusually good lot of candidates presented themselves for trial for the 'Varsity Banjo Club last evening. The following were taken on for further trial:
Banjeaurines, W. D. Smith, S. C. Coleman, A. C. Spalding, J. A. Burnham, L. T. Baker.
Banjos, F. W. Blatchford, H. C. Pierce, E. P. Davis, L. K. Foster, W. C. Quinby.
Guitars, F. L. Beecher, E. Millard, W. S. Parker, C. Johnston, A. A. Higginson.
The successful candidates must procure a copy of the "Clover March," by Armstrong and learn it well before the first rehearsal, the date of which will be announced in due time. There will be another trial of candidates Monday evening, Oct. 14, at 22 Little's.
