SECOND ELEVEN SCORED.

No Game Today. Practice on Soldiers Field.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The game which was scheduled with Phillips Andover Academy at Andover for today has been cancelled. Instead there will be a practice game between the first and second elevens on Soldiers Field.

In the practice yesterday afternoon the second eleven scored against the first eleven. As a result the practice after this was more spirited than it has been at any time before since the men began work.

The work of sifting out the men keeps going on and until this has proceeded a little further it will be almost impossible to have any team play. The physical condition of the men just now is very good and the real reason why the playing has been so poor is simply that the men are changing positions so often.

Yesterday there were several changes which may be suggestive. At right tackle, Fennessy was given a trial on the first eleven. Davis, who has been playing on the second during the last week, was given a trial on the first eleven.

Several of the men who have played on the first eleven played on the second eleven yesterday. This was done principally to put more spirit into the play, and the plan succeeded admirably. Hayes and Gonterman were halfbacks on the second, Dunlop was fullback, and Moulton played left end.

The two new men out were Chatman, who rowed on the 'varsity crew last year, and Kernan, captain of the sophomore crew last year. Both were tried at right tackle, opposite Hallowell and Stevenson. Sprague was out once more and played left guard.

The line-up yesterday was:
