Cycling Association Meet.

The annual fall meeting of the Cycling Association which took place yesterday afternoon was not what would be called a brilliant success. There were but three events and as the same men contested in all three events there were necessarily long waits between the events which were very tedious. Only one half of the whole number of men entered showed up.

The first event, the half mile scratch, was run in two heats. The men loafed, each waiting for the other to set the pace and the times made were very slow. In the first heat H. B. Hewitt was first with H. P. White second; time 1m. 31 3/5s. The second heat was won by H. H. Brown with L. de F. Smith second; time 1m. 25 1/5s. The final heat was won by H. B. Hewitt in 1m. 25 3/5s.; H. P. White was second.

In the two mile handicap race the handicapping was very poor. The limit man caught the two scratch men before the race was half over and at no time during the race were the latter in it for a moment. G. S. Baker Jr., with 225 yards won, W. E. Putnam with 200 yards was second; time 5m. 10 4/5s.

The last race was the most interesting one of the afternoon. It was the one mile handicap and was paced by F. S. Elliot and J. H. Grant on a tandem. Won by H. B. Hewitt; second, H. P. White; time, 2m. 35 4/5s.
