The property of the College Street Church has just been purchased by Yale for $27,000. Yale has for a long time wanted a suitable lecture and concert hall, and this will, by remodeling, be made to suit that purpose. The main hall will have a seating capacity of from 1800 to 2000 people.
Several recitation rooms will also be added. This will also be a valuable acquisition to the department of music, which has grown so much in the last year as to need new quarters. The church is a landmark in the city, having been built in 1848.
