Professor Richards lectured to the Boylston Chemical Club last night on the discovery of Argon and Helium. His lecture was a technical explanation of the experiments that resulted in the discovery of these gases, and was made especially clear by the introduction of practical illustrations. He said that Lord Rayleigh, professor in the Royal Institution in London, discovered Argon and Helium, after several years experimenting in gases, about a year ago.

These gases are by no means as yet familiar to scientists, and their discovery has created considerable excitement.
