Since F. N. Watriss '92 began rowing with the 'varsity, the junior crew has had no regular coach besides Captain Forbes. Both Fennessy and Watriss have, however, watched the crew row from time to time, and under their guidance the men are becoming settled into positions which they will probably hold when the crew goes on the river.
The order of the crew during the past few days is as follows: Stroke, Kales; 7, Jones; 6, Derby; 5, Stillman; 4, Heckscher; 3, Fairchild; 2, C. Brewer; bow, V. Mann.
Five of these men, namely, Forbes, C. Brewer, Fairchild, Derby and Kales, rowed on last year's '96 crew. It will, however be remembered that these were the lightest men of last year's crew. It is hard to see how the places of Shepard, Lewis, A. Brewer, and T. G. Stevenson can be filled as they were last year unless the men now on the second 'varsity crew are permitted to row with their class crews, in which case Rice, Fox and Holmes would probably take seats in the '96 boat.
