The first of a series of cross country runs for the purpose of developing men for a 25 mile "Marathon Race" next April, was held Saturday by the Boston Athletic Association. The distance was five miles, from the B. A. A. club-house to Coolidge's Corner and return.
E. Mills of the Berkeley school, with ten seconds handicap, won. H. W. Foote '97 finished second, and P. A. Hutchison '98 and A. W. Blakemore '97 third and sixth respectively. D. Grant M. S., who ran from scratch, finished ninth.
