Dinner to the Crews.

Last night Mr. Lehmann gave a dinner at the Algonquin Club to the members of the two eights who rowed in the race last Saturday, including the coxswains. There were present also Mr. Francis Peabody, Mr. J. J. Storrow and Mr. G. S. Mumford, all of whom have been prominent in rowing circles while at Harvard as well as afterwards.

After the dinner Mr. Storrow made a very telling speech and in closing presented medals to the members of the two crews. The men who rowed in the winning boat received silver medals, on one side of which is the Harvard seal in full, while on the other side is inscribed "Trial Race" with a space left for the name, and then the date of the race, "Dec. 5." Bronze medals, otherwise similar to the silver ones, were presented to the other crew.

Col. Peabody spoke next on rowing in general and was followed by Mr. Mumford and Mr. Lehmann, who compared the method of rowing in England and America. Captain Goodrich and several members of the crew also spoke briefly.
