Freshman Baseball.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Only twenty-seven men handed in their names as candidates for the Freshman baseball nine yesterday. Last year there were forty-nine and the year before about eighty. This very poor showing is no doubt due in part to the fact that the call comes earlier than usual this year, and while many of the ball players are still with the Freshman crew squad, which has not yet been cut down.

The names of the candidates and their positions follow:

Pitcher-W. J. Kibby.

Catcher-J. R. Bertholf, G. P. Milne.

First base-F. O. Horstmann, E. J. Sampson, I. T. Cutter, I. T. Carter.

Second base-C. F. Shaw, H. W. Keene, J. C. Bayley, C. S. Kelly, E. E. Coolidge.

Third base-I. W. Kendall, J. K. Robinson, J. A. Graydon, G. C. Clark.

Short stop-G. T. Putnam, C. L. Thurston, W. L. Cropley.

Outfield-W. S. Morris, H. Parton, A. H. Eustis, F. G. Hodskins, W. G. Quincy, H. McK. Jones, A. W. Merriam, C. H. Wyman.
