Yesterday afternoon the whole 'varsity baseball squad practiced for the first time on Soldiers Field. The nine was constantly being changed, those who were not in the field taking their turns at batting and running bases. At the same time others of the candidates practiced batting at the nets, being pitched to by Clarkson and Gregory.

The weather was rather cold which made the practice rather loose and the batting, in most cases, weak. The ground was also very soft. Bond and Keefe were out coaching the men. The practice lasted for about an hour and a half.
