The candidates for the football team lined up in two teams on Soldiers Field yesterday and played a hard practice game. Ex-Captain Emmons coached the men and the play was kept sharp and brisk. Of the new men Redpath, Knox and Donald showed up very well.
Before the game the men practiced for a while dropping on the ball and running around the ends. The quarterbacks practiced the usual passing to the halfbacks.
The practice will be discontinued during the recess, but with the beginning of next term the men will come out again for about three weeks. Notices have been sent to all men who have played football and many more men are expected to join the squad.
