On Saturday, April 18, the trial debate to choose the Yale speakers in the Harvard-Yale Freshman debate was held. The three men chosen were John Kirkland Clark, Charles Leroy Darlington and Edward Theodore Noble. George Dana Graves is alternate.

The judges for the University debate with Yale were decided upon during the recess. They are Elihu Root of New York, Albert H. Shaw of the "Review of Reviews," and Walter H. Page, editor of the Atlantic Monthly.
