The department of engineering has decided to offer during the coming summer two voluntary courses on topographical, hydrographical, geodetic and railroad surveying. The work, consisting almost entirely of practical instruction in the field, will be conducted on the shores of Martha's Vineyard, about eight miles south of Vineyard Haven. The party will leave Boston on the morning of June 20 by rail to Wood's Holl, being transferred from there to the Vineyard. The work will continue until July 25th and will supplement the work done in Engineering 4a, 4c, and 4d. Further information may be obtained from D. L. Turner, of the Scientific School.
