The Choral Class has now been practicing for about a month and a half under the instruction of Mr. Frese and has made good progress. At the meeting yesterday the question as to whether the club should take up a light opera, as last year, or an oratorio, was decided almost unanimously in favor of a light opera.
Mr. Frese has selected Herbert's "Wizard of the Nile," and work will begin at once. When it was first produced this opera was very favorably commented upon by the best critics, and the privilege of a European production was secured from the author.
It is the intention of the class to give a public production of the opera in concert form sometime in the spring, as was done last year.
