Yale Preparing for the Debate.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The committee which has charge at Yale of the selection of speakers for the Harvard-Yale debate has decided that at the final trial for choice of speakers six competitors will be allowed from the academic department, three from the law school, two from the Sheffield Scientific School and two from the divinity school. The first preliminary debate for the academic department will be held either on Feb. 23 or 24. The final trial debate will be held on March 1.

At the preliminary trials the speakers will be limited to six minutes; at the final trial twelve minutes. All members of the university, whether members of debating organizations or not, are eligible to compete, and are allowed to choose either side of the question in the trial debates.

The side of the question which Yale will choose will probably be announced in the course of a week or ten days.
