Course on Income Taxes.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Yesterday afternoon a preliminary meeting was held in University 23 to decide on the arrangements for the new course in Economics, to be given by Dr. J. A. Hill. The course is, in a general way, a supplement to Economics 7, but it does not count towards a degree, and attendance is entirely voluntary. There will be eight or ten lectures, dealing with the income taxes of England, Germany and Switzerland as they are today. Dr. Hill does not intend to discuss the question of the advisability of income taxes but merely to give a sketch of the manner in which the income tax affects taxation and to show the method and machinery of assessment.

The lectures will be given at 3.30 on Tuesday and Thursday and some other hour at the pleasure of the instructor. Lectures will begin next Tuesday afternoon in some room to be later announced.
