Since the publication of the communication to the CRIMSON with reference to the wretehed state of the basement at Weld, the college authorities have had plumbers investigating the difficulty. They find that some of the pipes were in a rather bad condition, but they have now been thoroughly repaired.

The next Harvard Union debate takes place to-morrow evening in Sever 11 at 7.30. The question is: "Resolved, That the Retaliatory Measure of the United States Senate in the Canadian Fishery Dispute is Unstatesmanlike and Unwise." The regular disputants are, aff. Mr. W. C. A runaway pair of horses attached to a brougham created great excitement in the Square about 11 o'clock last evening. They dashed up Main street, but were finally stopped by a brave "striker" who ran out, seized one of the animals by the bits and stopped the pair after being dragged about 100 feet. No damage was caused although a young lady, the sole occupant of the carriage was badly frightened.
