Letter from Captain Hallowell.

Captain Hallowell of the Freshman eleven has requested the CRIMSON to publish the following letter. It is answer to Professor Hollis's open letter published in the CRIMSON for Feb. 21, in which, in the name of the Athletic Committee, he presented the team with their cups.

"Feb. 25, 1898.

"Dear Professor Hollis:

"The cups awarded the 1901 Freshman football team by the Athletic Committee have been received and I thank you in the name of the whole team for doing us this unexpected honor.

"I take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to Mr. Guy Murchie, whose faithful coaching and untiring efforts throughout the entire season contributed so much to the success of the team.

"Yours very truly, "JOHN W. HALLOWELL."
